Planning a visit to Burnsville and Yancey.  Your first day after a quiet night’s sleep and breakfast at the Terrell House Bed and Breakfast the day could be spent visiting Burnsville’s downtown shops and stopping by the Burnsville-Yancey County Chamber of Commerce to plan the Blue Ridge Mountain venues you would like to see.  There are a number of golf courses within the area if you would like a day of golfing. Your second day there are a number of places to visit but for motorcycles and bicycles it’s the ride through the western North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains that will “move your soul”. Whatever you are riding be careful there are plenty “twisties” that will challenge your driving skills. Places like Roaring Fork Falls, Little Switzerland, Penland School of Crafts, the Bare Dark Sky Observatory, the Arthur Planetarium, Bakersville and Roan Mountain are all must sees. Great stops along the Blue Ridge Parkway include Mt. Mitchell, the Orchard at Altapass, Little Switzerland, Linville Falls, and Grandfather Mountain.

For those the love the outdoors there are many waterfalls and trails. For the avid hiker visit the High Peaks website to plan your adventure. http://nchighpeaks.org
